You can never go home again
This Summer, Found presents a very special iteration of the Joint Custody Project in arguably Los Angeles’ most dynamic sister city, Berlin [no offense to Kaunas and Tehran]. The project will enlist the talents from Berlin-based artists with a broad range of backgrounds and styles, ranging from classically trained fine artists to graphic designers to fashion designers to illustrators and beyond.
Picking up where the first JCP in Los Angeles left off, two Los Angeles-based artists will be selecting from a large talent pool of Berlin painters, illustrators, designers, and visual aesthetes. Artists will be paired together on one piece, passing it back in forth over the course of a month. However, each artist will not know who his/her partner is and will have no form of communication besides visual expression. The artists have been asked to respond to the concept of home [or lack thereof] and how each artist individually [and as a pair] identifies with home as a fictional, genuine, tangible, or abstract idea.
The artwork will be exhibited at Raab Galerie, Berlin, with the opening to be held on June 27th from 7-9pm.
Joint Custody Project Berlin will coincide with the the second Joint Custody Project LA. More detailed commentary on both Joint Custody projects may be seen at jointcustodyproject.blogspot.com.
