‘No Sequel to the Sadness,’ a new series of paintings & collage on discarded surfaces by Jonny Coleman, accompanied by wall scrawlings. Coleman drew direct inspiration from Salvador Plascencia’s ‘The People of Paper,’ (McSweeney’s/Harcourt), a novel about, amongst other things, narrative fibbing, perceived sadness, a mythic El Monte, retarded/soothsaying infants, and breaking up with your girlfriend.
