Ryan Piers Williams is a self-taught painter and photographer. Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Williams originally attended UT Austin’s Film program and eventually transferred to and graduated from USC’s Film Production Program.
Piers Williams has directed and produced several short films and music videos as well as crewed on many studio films. Most recently, he wrote, directed, produced and starred (alongside America Ferrara) in ‘Muertas,’ a film about the disappearance of women in Juarez, Mexico. In his photographs, he mourns the decaying south and captures the subtle beauty of big city life. In his paintings, instinct guides his hands, which never use brushes, and he often uses found garbage as his surfaces. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
