Thanks to BoingBoing for turning us on to NY artist Candy Chang’s literal street art project.  Her direct questions that take the form of psychiatric prompts are the simple forms that can be found around town on the ground.

While we’re on the subject of happenings and are in NY, Found friend Sean Donnola clued us into what hopes to be the World’s Largest Makeout Party, taking place tomorrow [Sat. March 29] at 4pm in Union Square.  Mr. Donnola will be photographing the participants, the results of which will be featured in a gallery show [TBA].  Those invited: friends, lovers, acquaintances, 3rd cousins, mugwumps, and grifters.

And that’s why you’d be wrong. For every peaceful suburb, there’s two John Wayne Gacey’s ready to wreak their antics.

An anonymous tagger [redundant, right?] decided to spray his/her ugly, uninspired [and not worth duplicating here, that’s for sure] tag, ‘Yuck!’ several nights ago on one of our windows.  It must be really tough to tag a gallery window.  Things must be hard.  Mommy must not have said ‘I kind of don’t regret you’ enough.  Luckily, I wasted two minutes on the phone calling LADPW’s graffiti hotline, and today the little mess was wiped out by the experts.

Notice: If you’re going to tag us, make it good.

Notice also: If you’re going to tag us again, bring your running shoes.  We’ll eventually catch you and force you to watch the American Masters series on Dick Avedon.

Art Threat covered this rather unbelievable story about a group of Czech Artists who last June hacked into Czech Television and created a faux nuclear explosion at a mountain resort in the Krkonose region. While six members of the Ztohoven group have been charged with scaremongering, The Czech National Gallery saw fit to bestow upon them an award for their work.

Ghetto Gloss intends to reshape Glendale Blvd. tonight as they present a group show ‘Piece Meal’ that includes Andrew Hem and many incredibly popular street artists from the Restitution Press crew.  This will be another collaboration between Ghetto Gloss and the wildly au courant Seventh Letter Crew [see these ambitious/prolific artists all over Juxtapoz, LA Weekly, etc.].  Highly recommended.

A couple of weeks ago, outside Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem, I spied this sticker affixed to the back of a street sign from a block away. It looked awfully familiar and upon closer inspection, my suspicions were confirmed. It was a piece from JR’s Face2Face Project. Live and in the flesh, right there in the world’s holiest city. When I am back in Israel next month, I will keep my eyes peeled for more.
