Its Finally Here*

Its Not Hard

Its Not Hard*: Explorations of Live Art finally made it across the pond into our eager little hands. The book was printed in a very limited run - so for those of you unlucky enough not to have your own copy, you can get your sticky little fingers on one over at Amazon (albeit for the steep price tag of $49.07). The book, edited by Anthony Schrag of Glasgow, is a collection of work by many artists, including our own Brady Brim-DeForest, and A&K.

When You’re Anonymous, How Do People Know It’s Even You?

Banky’s Flower

A storm of controversy is brewing across the pond. Collectors/opportunists have been removing works by prolific street artist Banksy, from their in-situ locations, and selling them at auction. Now, Banksy has authorized an organization, Pest Control, to validate the authenticity of only certain approved works. This begs the question - when creating anonymous street art, isn’t the mystery half the fun?

The BCC has the full story.

Notes for the Chinese Underground Artist

mao.jpg

I found this guide to vaulting to the forefront of the ever-so-hot Chinese art scene from that’s Bejing.

4 simple Communist Commandments:

  1. Shamelessly steal other people’s ideas, claim them for your own
  2. Create your own controversy
  3. Exploit American culture for quick attention
  4. Do anything to get a location in the art landscape

And the unwritten rule, be Chinese.
