Ghetto Gloss intends to reshape Glendale Blvd. tonight as they present a group show ‘Piece Meal’ that includes Andrew Hem and many incredibly popular street artists from the Restitution Press crew.  This will be another collaboration between Ghetto Gloss and the wildly au courant Seventh Letter Crew [see these ambitious/prolific artists all over Juxtapoz, LA Weekly, etc.].  Highly recommended.

Hooray for Humans is a very active online collective of artists and culture disseminators that have published some very worthwhile podcasts.  This past Saturday they curated a show at the Academy in Long Beach, where they’re based.   The Hooray for Humans podcasts find the group musing on everything from perceptions of what their outsiders assume their name means to spoken word poets to Sound Walk coverage, all focusing on Long Beach related arts and artistic happenings. Just when we thought the Joint Custody Project had finally buried all of its drama, we had one last chance meeting between partners who had only corresponded through email, though it was roughly 2 months after the opening.

My rommate (Chris Cruse) was with me at Club 82, which our friend Preston promotes and which Chris used to provide visuals for. Anyway, at one point, we gliding gingerly through the crowd of surprisingly really good looking folks, where I see Chris’s JCP partner, Ryan Riss, standing right next to us.
