another LAPD blunder & why MacArthur park = the new Culver City

Bro’s are Pissed

A studio mate of mine Allison forwarded this to me yesterday (after our BOXeight studio was impenetrable during the protests-turned-mini-riots).

Which begs the question, will MacArthur park bring a new renaissance of artists in 5-8 years, once all the scared, marginalized people (see above) are pushed away? See: Rodney King, Culver City, etc.

RE: Beef

wow!

So, in the vein of the upcoming ‘Other Cheek’ show in June (the ides of June, that is), I wanted to make sure you knew about this incident in March. Basically, one of my heroes (because he started his own label and continually delivers great work, as solo MC, producer, and exec producer on his labelmates’ work, and work that is thoroughly uncompromising…though not for everyone), El-P got clowned on by his ex-label (while with Company Flow), Rawkus, for posing with Diddy when El & his band ran into the Bad Boy mogul.

Rawkus & El have bad blood. Just recall the line from El’s Deep Space 9mm (2002): “Signed to Rawkus?/I’d rather be mou-” well, you know.
