While we’re on the subject of happenings and are in NY, Found friend Sean Donnola clued us into what hopes to be the World’s Largest Makeout Party, taking place tomorrow [Sat. March 29] at 4pm in Union Square.  Mr. Donnola will be photographing the participants, the results of which will be featured in a gallery show [TBA].  Those invited: friends, lovers, acquaintances, 3rd cousins, mugwumps, and grifters.

Valentine’s Day in France

As Thursday is the opening day at Art Now Fair, our Silver Lake gallery friends GhettoGloss and Flaunt Magazine have teamed up to throw a kickoff party [open to the public] Thursday night from 11pm-4am.

Found will be in Room #314; GhettoGloss is in #212. You are all invited.

Kaprow clones are at it again.  The Armory/MOCA/LACMA are voltroning to recreate Kaprow’s ‘Fluids’ project, wherein twenty rectangular enclosures of ice blocks are built throughout the city and are left to melt.  Interested parties should email sfinnertypyne@armoryarts.org and attend a preliminary meeting in the Brown Auditorium at LACMA at 5:30pm on Thursday, March 20.  [thanks Lyla]

Public art has been a tricky enough platform as it is. And you’d think North Carolina would be a peaceable-enough place where you wouldn’t expect those meddling street artists [Flossy & Goo] to cantanker about.

And that’s why you’d be wrong. For every peaceful suburb, there’s two John Wayne Gacey’s ready to wreak their antics.

Tomorrow, this new Kaprow website is supposed to be launched here, celebrating his legacy:

“The Kaprow site will provide a comprehensive calendar of Happenings being reinvented by 29 local institutions throughout Southern California during the exhibition Allan Kaprow–Art as Life. The Kaprow site will also serve as an archive where participants will present documentation of the Happenings and create a community-driven dialogue, building upon the dynamic relationship between interaction and interpretation embodied in Kaprow’s work.”

Geesh.

It appears there has been some thievery going on, New York. We’ll be sure to frisk people at the door when Found is there very soon.
