STOP THE SMELL

 affected-region.jpg

From Julie:

“I live in the Arts District of Downtown LA and am CURSED with the occasional stinky smell from the rendering* plant over in Vernon…

If you have ever smelled a NASTY stink in the air in Downtown and/or the surrounding area, chances are it came from the plant. If you haven’t smelled anything, consider yourself lucky but know you probably will at some point.

The Stop The Smell** project hopes to “encourage” the rendering plant to install a clean air filtration system of sorts to put an end to this horrific odor. We can only encourage them to change their ways if we approach them as a strong, persuasive force. With that, we have created a petition for those who support the idea of clean smelling air so that all our voices can speak as one.

For those of you that live, work or play in Downtown this is something you should be educated on. For those of you that do not live in the area, you should still learn about this matter as the air over here can very easily blow your way. Pretty much, everyone everywhere should learn about what is going on and sign the petition to help put an end to it!

You can learn more and sign the petition to put an end to the stench here.

*If you don’t know what rendering is, learn about it here

**this does not refer to The Smell, the downtown venue that also produces foul smells & noises [ed. note]
