Here is a final list of the Other Cheek Artists and a link to most of their works/personalities/webligations—-
Matt Arnold, Shae Barney, Jonny Coleman, Madla Hruza, Katie Jenkins, Lindsay LeBlanc, Kate Kendall, Nathan Kanne, Snowy, Tom Voorhies, Ryan Weigner, and Poughkeepsie Wow!

Tito Da Costa threw caution to the wind and passed around his mini HD camera [of course, with the appropriately fun fish eye] during the Other Cheek opening reception last Saturday. This was our first foray into documenting some of the more ‘interesting,’ possibly interactive events. Enjoy.

It is the Center’s great pleasure to present I Just Can’t Get Enough, an exhibition of new works by CSULB Faculty, MFA’s and BFA’s. This exhibition represents an opportunity for the Center to provide a venue not just to up and coming young artists, but to a young curator as well, Carol Cheh. Cal State Long Beach graduates and faculty have long been a substantial presence at the Center; several of the artists in this exhibition are either current or former Studio Artists, as well.
Six Soundtracks for Angeles Gate
The opening reception will be accompanied by a series of musical performances, Six Soundtracks for Angels Gate, each based upon a 20 minute film being created by artist Glenn Bach. Each performer or duo will improvise a soundtrack to this film, and, for the final slot, all of the performers will group together for one final, completely improvised soundtrack The performances will take place in Building H.
My neighbor Travis Millard has his new work out at Secret Headquarters. His kitchen is a converted stagecoach, and his work has jokes. Check it out.

“The Real & Imagined Role of the Art Critic in Contemporary Art”
Found darling Sarah Dougherty returns to the East Coast [from Mexico] for a brief Summer stint in the continental US before returning back south of the border.
from the artist:
if only more galleries were this cool & by cool, i simply mean accessible. the artists, the crowd & the curator; very cool people. i only met a few of the artists, but i truly enjoyed every piece in it’s own little way. amazing how many people out there relate to the phenomena of heartbreak. yes, we go on & on about it to our closest confidant, but letting the whole of l.a. on it? brilliant!! wow, the last time i wore pink socks or one pink sock for that matter was in the 80’s!! only an artist could bring that back into my life. thanks jonny for letting me be a part of it & i hope to do more.
p.s. are there always going to be so many ridiculously cute girls there?!
Ghetto Gloss presents the Locker Room project and is open to submissions. All participants will be published in the book that chronicles the process. Supposedly, big timers like Ed Ruscha & Dennis Hopper might be participating. Check out the details…there’s a lot of stuff.
