SLIDELUCKPOTSHOW los angeles
LEAVE IT TO THE ARTISTS to make inherently whack things [especially analog or early digital] like ASCII, PowerPoint, disposable cameras, calligraphy, bookbinding, crochet, & model airplanes fun again [or for the first time]. This Friday, June 29, the Slideluckpotshow crew celebrates their 9th combination of the historically avoided family rituals of slideshows & potlucks in LA. I’m no good behind the wok, so I’ll have to buy something awesome & unoffensive to bring [or weird, regional, & quirky]. Here’s the full info from the organizers:
June 29th brings many exciting things. No, we’re not talking about the
iPhone, we’re talking about an exciting night of art, cool people, and
yummy food at Slideluck Potshow.
You’re probably thinking what the F#*k is Slideluck Potshow. SLPS is a
gathering of members of the art, photography, and media communities to
share and celebrate our work. Based in New York and held in many
cities internationally, SLPS is the first ever digital art salon and
potluck and it’s about to have another go in Los Angeles. So pull
yourself away from your coveted new shiny Apple product (that you
waited 7 hours in line to buy) and socialize with cool people and see
some great art.
RECAP! What is SLPS?
It’s a slideshow! Come prepared to see amazing work from artist such
as Lauren Greenfield, Mark Edward Harris and many many more!
It’s a potluck! So get some gourmet grub—-‹cook it or buy it, just make
it good! And don’t forget to bring it.
