New York Gestalt

microgestalt in ny

The Micro Gestalt show (shown at Found in January-February) recently franchised out to New York’s 207 Gallery (the photo on the site is from the Found Installation). Like Matt Maust’s December show which saw permeations in New York & London (and like the Joint Custody Project, which the Gem crew seems to be appropriating or building on…more on that soon), Micro Gestalt has seen life in the hierarchal art capitol of the States. Airom Bleicher, who headed the MG project, wrote this in an email to me recently:

‘the new blog and site are looking very cool. i first saw that subconcious graffiti art movie in a gallery in San Diego a year or so ago and have been wanting to see it again ever since.
micro-gestalt went down well in NY, lots of people crammed into the tiny space for the opening, got a little line about the show in the Manhattan Times, did a sound performance called 5 tiny hums (which I’m waiting on video from) and had a good time in the city.
didn’t get to see as much as i’d liked but there’s talk I might be heading back with the micro gestalt artists for a midtown show in december but not confirmed yet.
I’m going to be concentrating on film scoring and working on new work for the summer. no notable LA shows till fall when i’ve got some installations coming up. I’ll keep you in the loop.

cheers,

Airom’
